On Wednesday morning, August 19, three young brothers were seriously injured in a single vehicle traffic accident northwest of Lyndon in Osage County.
According to Osage County Sheriff, the accident happened shortly after 10 a.m. at 245th and Morrill Road. It appeared that the driver of a 1996 Pontiac, 16 year old Roger Lane of Lyndon, had lost control for some reason and smashed into a tree.
Lane was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash and was taken by air ambulance to Stormont Vail Regional Health Center but was released the following day. His two brothers were also in the vehicle. Brandon Lane, aged 15 was not wearing a seat belt according to authorities and he was taken by air to Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri where he is now said to be in fair condition. The third of the brothers was one year old A.J. and he was ejected from the vehicle and taken by ground transportation to Topeka and then transferred to Children’s Mercy Hospital where he is still said to be critical.
