On Sunday afternoon, July 19 a pedestrian was killed in an accident in Kansas City.

According to Kansas City police, the accident happened just after 4 p.m. on Sunday at East 34th Street and Prospect Avenue. A 17 year old teenage girl was driving a red Chevy Impala the wrong way down 34th Street which is a one way street when it hit a silver Hyundai. As the cars collided, one spun into 42 year old Lonzell Davis who was standing near the intersection.

Witnesses tried to give Davis CPR and he was transported to the hospital where he later died.

Three of the four people in the Hyundai were taken to the hospital with minor injuries and the teenage driver of the red car was also taken to hospital.

Police shut down 34th Street and Prospect while they investigated the scene.
