Early on Thursday afternoon, September 24, one person died in a motorcycle accident in Platte County.
According to the Missouri Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 1.30 p.m. on the southbound I 29 near Interstate 435 and a little northwest of Kansas City International Airport. A Harley Davidson motorcycle was towing a two wheel trailer and it appears that the driver, 41 year old John P. Bledsoe of Huron, lost control. Both the driver and the passenger were ejected from the motorcycle and the driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger, 46 year old Michelle M. Bledsoe, who was the driver’s wife, was moderately injured and was taken to North Kansas City Hospital.
As part of the investigation, it was discovered that the Harley Davidson had encountered a mechanical problem which was the reason it had crashed.
