Young Girl Dies in Rodeo Accident

On Saturday night, May, 21 a young girl died in a rodeo accident.

According to authorities, 12 year old Kalee Chandler from Butler, Missouri was taking part in a rodeo and racing around barrels. The event took place in Adrian, south of Kansas City. Her horse is believed to have had a sudden heart attack after heading for the finish line and crashed into a gate, falling over and pinned her underneath.

Many people rush to the scene to lift the horse off Chandler but it took a while to get the horse off due to its weight. She appeared to be lifeless and paramedics performed CPR before she was taken to Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City.

She remained on life support in intensive care until she died on Monday afternoon.

This accident comes only three months after another fatal accident involving pro barrel racer 27 year old Lara Dewees who died after an accident in Mississippi.

Kalee Chandler is survived by her parents, Wade and Kasey Chandler and grandparents Wesley and Janie Chandler and Jerry and Marsha Ours.
